Began studying Biochemistry at UMIST in Manchester in 1999, quickly changed on to BioInformatics and developed a love of Perl, MySQL and Linux. Studied for an MSc at Edinburgh and discovered the joys of Haggis, .Net and Whiskey.

Eventually ended up in London, and have been working as a developer at 7digital for the past 18 months. Recently have been working on the search platform at 7digital using Solr to improve its speed and accuracy.

When not hacking I enjoy running half marathons, reading weird fiction, painting and cycling.
